This year, we were thrilled to partner with Special Olympics Massachusetts to host our first-ever Special Olympics event on September 15th, marking a significant milestone for our school and students.
The excitement surrounding the event had been building for several weeks, as our students dedicated themselves to practicing a variety of sports and activities. From soccer to football and tee ball, they worked hard to develop new skills and push their physical abilities to new heights. The culmination of their efforts was a fantastic showcase during the Special Olympics event, where they proudly demonstrated their abilities for friends, family, and the RCS community.
The event kicked off at 10:00 AM with an inspiring Opening Ceremonies, setting the tone for a day filled with energy, excitement, and camaraderie. Parents, staff, and supporters gathered to cheer on the students as they participated in a series of games, each one highlighting the progress made during the summer training. It was a day of celebration not only for athletic achievement but for the spirit of inclusion and perseverance that defines both RCS Learning Center and Special Olympics.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication and determination. Their hard work paid off, and it was truly a joy to see their confidence and excitement shine during the games. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to support the event—your encouragement and enthusiasm made the day even more special.
With the support of Special Olympics Massachusetts, we hope to continue fostering a love for sports, health, and community among our students, providing them with more opportunities to grow and succeed. We can’t wait to see what next year’s event has in store!
